Common issues

ProblemWhat to do
No SD card detectedInsert a separately purchased microSD card, up to 512 GB. The card must be formatted as FAT32.
Serial port missingTry another USB data cable or port, and close other webpages, flashing tools, or terminals using the port.
Device cannot connectUse desktop Chrome or Edge. Mobile browsers and WeChat's in-app browser do not support these web flashing steps. If writing has not started, reconnect the device. If download mode is required, follow that system's instructions.
Screen is slow, frozen, or still shows the old image after installationConfirm that flashing has finished, then briefly press the power key. If the device still does not respond, press and hold the power key, releasing it when the screen changes.
Installation interrupted or verification failedKeep the device connected and retry as instructed by the flashing page. Do not unplug or force a restart before writing has finished. If the page provides an operation log, save it and send it to the system developer when reporting the issue.

System-specific issues

Pico Reader cannot connect

On a device already running Pico Reader, use 设置 → Pico 设备卡片 → 升级 → 进入 BOOT 模式 (Settings → Pico device card → Upgrade → Enter BOOT mode) to enter download mode. Wait for the computer to detect the serial port again, then retry. For a first installation, connect the device directly using the Pico Reader installation steps.

No books in the Pico Reader bookshelf

No books are included with the system. Put EPUB or TXT files in the microSD card's books folder, then open them from the device's bookshelf.

RickyOS installation is unavailable after the check

Follow the installation page's instructions. Use 查看本次操作记录 (View this operation's log) to save the log, then visit the RickyOS website to find a feedback channel and share the log with the team.
